The South Park hotel would be aimed at business travelers
Plans were filed Thursday for another hotel in Downtown LA’s South Park neighborhood that, if approved by the city, would be set up in a new, 18-story building with a lobby lounge, a café, and a rooftop pool.
The 247 rooms would be reasonably priced, probably around $200/nightly, and geared towards “cost conscious business travelers and millennials,” says Sun Capital, which is financing the project.
Called The Cambria at LA Live, it would be operated by Choice Hotels International.
South Park has a host of hotels planned or under development now. Over on 11th and Flower streets, Oceanwide Plaza has announced it’s planning to bring a five-star Park Hyatt hotel with 184 rooms to the neighborhood.
The nearby Metropolis megaproject will bring an 18-story Hotel Indigo to the neighborhood. Just east of LA Live, there’s a 34-story hotel coming to to 11th and Figueroa as part of a trio of towers that will eventually take rise on an L-shaped property that is currently shared by the Luxe Hotel.
