Built for an Occidental College professor, it’s asking $1.025M
Located in the Eagle Rock hills just north of Occidental College, the home was built for Omar Paxson, a playwright, director and professor in Oxy’s theater arts department. And as one might expect for such a client, the three-bedroom, 2.5-bath residence is pretty darn theatrical in its own right.
Along with vast expanses of glass, Saltillo tile, sky-high ceilings, built-in cabinetry, and light fixtures custom designed by Conrad Buff, the Paxson House’s standout features include vivid bands of stained glass crafted by the venerable Judson Studios.
However, the 1,936-square-foot time capsule also looks to have a fair amount of room for improvement, a factor presumably reflected in its relatively low asking price of $1.025 million.
Open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The deadline for offers is November 9.
