Not too far from the Expo Line
Developer City View wants to bring 296 apartments in a seven-story mixed-use development to the neighborhood. Approximately 25 of the apartments would be
for available to very low income residents.
Located at the northeast corner of Adams Boulevard and Grand Avenue, the mixed-use building would have five floors of residential space above a two-story podium with parking for 343 cars and 332 bicycles, plus storefronts for retail and restaurants.
Designs by Humphreys and Partners Architects show balconies and a rooftop with communal space above the complex.
The site is home to four commercial buildings and parking lots, which would be razed to make way for the apartment complex.
There are a number of smaller developments and one huge one proposed for Historic South Central—the Reef—which would bring a 19-story, 208-room hotel, two high-rises full of condos, and a pedestrian shopping plaza to the area.
