Time capsule alert!

If you’re a fan of horse-racing, peacocks, and midcentury modern architecture, this may well be your dream house. Located across the street from the Arboretum and a few blocks away from Santa Anita Racetrack, the single-story post and beam has just hit the market for the first time since being built in 1950.

Listing agent Roxanne Treloar tells Curbed that a permitted family room was added to the three-bedroom, two-bath house in 1952, but beyond that, very little has changed. Notable features include beamed ceilings, terrazzo tile, custom walnut cabinetry, two fireplaces, clerestory windows, and a central atrium.

The time-capsule residence sits on a .33-acre lot with mature oak trees. Asking price is $1.299 million, and open house is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
